What's Going On - October 2019

As October draws to a close--already!--here's what's going on with me me.

1) My new project called Celebrate October has been an amazing experience, and I can't wait to start working on the pages for the album. I've had so much fun devising and writing the prompts, and I know I'm going to enjoy putting the album together, but the best part has been getting to know the participants better and being inspired by their work.

2) This month, Daniel and I celebrated 18 years together and 17 years married. We stayed close to home for our anniversary this year, exploring parts of Michigan neither of us has ever seen before, and it was awesome. Time together always is.

3) The last vestige of our moving adventure--cleaning out the storage unit--was done this month, too, and it feels good to have that chapter of our life behind us.

4) I've been thinking a lot about writing again. I've even reviewed part of a novel I've worked on for several years, and I have toyed around with an older story idea, as well as a brand new one. And I'm kicking around ideas for a memoir.

5) About a week ago, I came down with a cold that started out mild and grew in intensity (and misery!) as it settled in. I am more than ready to be done with this particular nasty virus.

6) Finally, November begins in two days, and I'm planning on doing my 30 in 30 Thankfully project. The plan is to post on this blog the 30 things I'm thankful for, whenever I'm inspired, rather than with a daily requirement. (I am not fond of daily requirements.)

So...that's what's going on with me as October goes. Leave me a comment and tell me what's going on with you.

Layout Share - October 2018

Here are two pages of October, 2018, that I completed at the recent 3-day crop at my local scrapbook store.

1. Shopping for Clothes

For this page about going shopping for new fall clothes last year, I used a sketch from one of May Flaum's classes. Most of the supplies came from Echo Park, except for some of the letter stickers, which were from Recollections and Simple Stories, and the puffy hearts, which came from American Crafts. The page is visually busier than I usually like, but I think it turned out pretty well, and the colors are luscious.

2. Hello, Fall

I forget sometimes how much I like kraft backgrounds for fall pages. For this little blurb about autumn leaves where my husband works, I used some Echo Park patterned paper strips and enamel dots, as well as a card from a cut-apart sheet that I fussy cut for the title--LOVE! The leaves are from Recollections (at Michaels), and there's a few heart-shaped enamel dots from Shimelle Laine and a few gold glitter ones from American Crafts.

While there's not much story here, it is a little fragment of our 2018 life that I wanted included in our album.

Layout Share - Bone Marrow Transplant

I've talked a lot about my nephew's journey through leukemia and the subsequent bone marrow transplant in 2013, that it all had to be repeated in 2015 when leukemia came back. I share these stories because I want to process the trauma, but also because I want to share my experiences with documenting the reality of what happened.

I think telling difficult stories in scrapbooking, if it's something that contributes to healing and growing from those difficulties, can be a good thing. It is for me; I know it's not necessarily for everybody.

But I'll admit, even after 6 years, even after my nephew beat the shit out of leukemia twice and is now living a happy, healthy life, telling these stories is really hard. So much emotion comes back, and I think it's the process of facing those lingering, complicated feelings that does the healing.

In this post, I'm sharing two pages about the bone marrow transplant my nephew had in 2013, hoping it may help someone else tackle difficult stories and start to recover a little in the telling.

1. Transplant 2013

For me, blue is a soothing color, so I chose this light blue background and used minimal embellishment, as I wanted a simple, subdued tone to compliment the subject matter.

Butterflies represent transformation to me, and as I would call bone marrow transplant an ultimate transformation, that lovely butterfly sticker is perfectly placed.

I was also able to incorporate a photo, taken of the window of my nephew's room, and some memorabilia from his hospital stay. The title incorporates both Thickers (the year) and letter stickers from Pinkfresh Studios. (I'm using a lot of Pinkfresh these days.)

2. One Week Later

My vision for this page was better than the actual result, but I'm going to refrain from redoing it.

I love the background paper, also from Pinkfresh Studios, and I definitely wanted minimal embellishment again, some epoxy stickers from Cocoa Daisy, a couple of puffy corner stickers to bring out the yellow in the patterned paper, a die cut from Elle's Studio, and a couple enamel dots here and there. Letter stickers from Thickers and Pinkfresh create the title, and I drew a single line border in an effort to "contain" the contents of the page a little bit.

I think it mostly works, and it definitely tells another story of 2013.

Layout Share - Where I Rest

Several month ago, when I saw this patterned paper from the Just a Little Lovely collection by Pinkfresh Studios at the scrapbook store, I instantly loved it and brought it home with me. All those colors make me happy, though especially the purples and blues, of course. :)

Because of the muted tones, this paper went into the kit of supplies I put together for finishing up my documentation of 2013, and this picture and story went so perfectly with the paper, I was really happy I went with my instinct and bought it.

Adding some little details, Pinkfresh Studios die cuts, some Thickers, some enamel dots, star stickers from Jilliebean Soup, and epoxy stickers from Cocoa Daisy made this page a simple platform for this story of sleeping in the recliner my husband bought me for my birthday. I especially like the "Dream" cloud die cut.

Layout Share - At Karmanos

Last weekend, I went to a three-day crop and completed lots of pages for my 2013 yearbook album. This page about taking my nephew to Detroit for some medical testing was one of my top two favorites.

At Karmanos

When I was making this page at the scrapbook store, I wanted paper that had a brick pattern, or something that reflected a "big city" feel, but I was originally looking for colors matching the buildings in the photos.

Until I found this absolutely perfect blue brick paper from Ella and Viv, and I was thrilled!

I had already made the flower embellishments with stamps, coloring and cutting them out, and I thought they went great with the background, as did the journaling card and die cut from Elle's Studio. Adding just a little bit of paper and some black glitter enamel dots finish out the page, and I really, really like it.

Layout Share - The Transplant Journey Begins

This page is one of two favorites I created at last weekend's three-day crop. The photo bothers me just a little because it's so bold and so not representative of the topic of the page, but it was the only photo I took that day, so I went with it.

Sometimes, when scrapbooking, I just gotta go with what I've got.

I used another Victoria Marie sketch for this page, though simplified to fit the story I'm telling. I find the colors I chose, the mostly white background, and the minimal embellishment work well together as a counter-balance to the bold colors in the photo, and as complimentary to the tone of the story itself. I also really like how the three fonts in my title work together, and I'm going to explore using that again in future pages.

Layout Share - Movies

For this page about taking our nephew to the movies throughout the summer of 2013, I used a sketch from Simple Scrapper, which I modified to fit my purposes. The original sketch was for an 8.5x11 page and called for 2.5 inch photos in those squares. I used movie tickets, added a larger photo in the white space available, and changed the orientation of the title. I love the puffy star and arrow stickers from Elle's Studio and how the whole page came together.

Layout Share - Birthday Present

Truth be told, I do not particularly love this photo of me, the angle it was taken, but I do like how this page turned out, so I decided to go ahead and share it.

I used a sketch from Victoria Marie's class, Layering Like a Boss 2, which I cannot possibly recommend highly enough. Victoria is super talented and so inspiring. Watching her videos always motivates me to get making!

For my 2013 pages, I put together a kit of supplies that I thought reflected the sort of somber tone of that year's events, and I created some of my own embellishments to go with the other things I gathered. The butterflies here were created by stamping the image, then lightly watercoloring, and cutting them out. I also used some paper and stickers from Pinkfresh Studios and some epoxy stickers from Cocoa Daisy that were given to me by a friend. A few enamel dots and just a little bit of sprinkled ink mist finished off the page, and I will definitely use this sketch again and again.

Layout Share - Right Now

Last weekend was the 3-day crop at my local scrapbook store, Scrappy Chic, and I completed 18 total layouts, including all of the ones I had planned for my 2013 yearbook. Over the next few posts, I'm going to share some of those completed pages, beginning with this one that pairs a mirror selfie I took before I started doing iPhone selfies, and some Facebook posts as journaling.

Right Now

For this page I used papers and embellishments from at least two Pinkfresh Studios collections, and some puffy stickers from K&Company, the design based on a PageMaps sketch from awhile back.  I think there's one patterned paper from a different company, but I don't recall for sure.

(I realize this photo isn't the best, but as I live in Michigan, if I wait for perfect light, especially in the seasons of gloom we experience here, I'll never blog.)

I was trying to play off the colors in my photo for the color choices, and I wasn't sure if I was going to like the combination at fierst, but I think it works. I actually like how the page came out, even though it's definitely different from my usual design approach.

While I did a ton of journaling at this time in my life, there was no entry for this particular day, so being able to go back on my Facebook timeline and seeing what was going on with me on that date was quite helpful.

Decorating Notebooks

October begins in less than a week, and I'm so excited to start preparations for Celebrate October by decorating the cover of the notebook I'm using for my own responses to the prompt.

I keep a set of notebooks in my Traveler's Notebook cover from Echo Park Paper.

That's the one I'm currently using as my everyday journal, and behind it are notebooks for scrapbook projects, as well as a dedicated notebook for my One Little Word this year.

Using the new Autumn Splendor collection by Simple Stories, I decorated the cover of a Moleskine notebook, which I trimmed to fit the traveler's notebook cover pictured above.

I love how it turned out, and it only took about an hour, though a solid fifteen minutes were spent figuring out what supplies to use.

If you want to see what Celebrate October is all about, check out the details on this blog post and join me!

Layout Share - Mermaid

I'd Rather Be a Mermaid

Last weekend, was the three-day crop at my LSS, Scrappy Chic, and I finally got around to completing this layout from a kit my friend Shirley gave me for my birthday last June.

Because of the metallic elements on this layout, it was difficult to get a decent photo. While this is not my usual style--and a little out of my comfort zone--I really love these pages and the story I told about how much I love fashion colors in my hair. I added quite a few of my own supplies to the kit, including some chipboard and gems from Bo Bunny and a lot of shiny embellishments from different companies.

Also, I got seventeen other layouts during the crop, and I'm hoping to share some of those in the days to come.

Announcing Celebrate October - Invitation

With one week left until my favorite month begins, I'm ready to announce my prompt-driven, memory-keeping project for celebrating October and invite everyone to join me.

Why October?

I love October for a lot of reasons. Autumn is my favorite season, and while it officially begins in September in my neck of the globe, fall delights reach full fruition in October.

October is also the month my parents were married. It's when my husband and I met in person for the first time, and it's the month of our own wedding anniversary.

Where I live, October is when the air gets crisp, the breezes get chilly, and the trees turn every breathtaking color imaginable. October is also when both apples and pumpkins are fully in season, and it's the month of Hallowe'en, too.

There is so much to enjoy and celebrate in October, so many memories to make and document. So, if you love October, too, I invite you to join me in celebrating this month with a memory-keeping project.

The Project

I've participated in several month-long scrapbooking projects, most notably Journal Your Christmas, Shimelle Laine's yearly class that has helped me create my most favorite scrapbooks. I've done a few albums for December Daily, the project Ali Edwards does every year to document the holiday season, and I've done my own daily memory-keeping project for the month of my birthday.

The past three years, I've done what I've called Everyday October albums, which documented the daily happenings in my life during the month, and while I enjoyed them, they didn't really capture the spirit of October like I wanted.

Enter Celebrate October, a project with 31 prompts I created from brainstorming and researching special days of observation during my favorite month. There are all kinds of ideas for celebrating and documenting October in ways I've certainly never done before, and I hope you will join me in this adventure.

Forms of Documentation

Almost anything will work for this project, so use what you like, whatever inspires you to document and/or create.

Here are a few options to consider:

Traditional scrapbook album in your favorite size
Traveler's Notebook
Art journal
Pocket page album
Photo album
Handmade mini-book
Digital photo book
Instagram or other social media
Blank book or notebook
Journal app on your phone or tablet

How This Works

Every day, I will provide a new topic to explore in a prompt containing more than one (hopefully) inspirational idea. Prompts will be posted on a dedicated, private Facebook group, and you can use each prompt (or not!) however you choose.

(Anyone who is not a Facebook user and still wants to participate, please reach out by email to talk about alternatives.)

The goal is celebrating October and documenting that celebration. Just keep in mind that even writing a few sentences counts as documentation, and there are many ways to celebrate, even quietly in your own heart and mind.

My Approach

I will be journaling my responses to the prompts, and the pages of my traditional scrapbook album will spring from that. I plan to take photos, though there will be pages I create that use photos from the past or images I gather from media or the Internet.

Let's Talk About Daily Creating

Now, I love creating, and I think that, in a perfect world, creating every single day would be really good for all of us.

That being said, I have almost ruined my love for paper-crafting by participating in projects with daily requirements. Life happens, and even our best creative intentions can be hijacked by any number of realities.

So, I'm taking Megan Anderson's wise advice to "document now, make later."

I have no idea what this October will hold--me being without a working crystal ball and all--but I can promise that I will absolutely NOT be creating a page or even part of one every single day. I know that's not a realistic goal for me, so I'm not even going to attempt it.

I hope to stay current with responses to the daily prompts in my journal, then create pages for the album as I have time and inspiration, even if I don't finish by the end of October. I may even have to skip days of journaling and catch up when I have time. That is completely OKAY! We all get busy, and life doesn't stop throwing things at us because we're engaged in a daily project.

But if you are the kind of person that thrives on the challenge of getting a page done every single day, go for it! I will cheer you on with gusto!

That is just not how I roll, and I want to give us all permission to do what we can when we can, what interests and inspires us.

The only rule for Celebrate October is to enjoy it. No stress, no pressure, and absolutely no requirement to do anything every day.

My Supply List

Album - 12 x 12 We R Memory Keepers 3-ring scrapbook album with an orange cover.

Journal - a Moleskine notebook, trimmed to fit a traverler's notebook cover.

Kit - I keep a large collection of autumn-themed supplies that I'll be using for this project, some new, and some older, along with some autumn stamps, as well as dies and punches.

Reach Out

So...I think that covers all the details. If you have any questions, please email me.

Or if you are all in to participate, please click here to access the Facebook group, request to join, and you can post questions/comments/ideas/suggestions there.

(Again, if you don't use Facebook, and you still want to participate, we can work something out; just email me!)

I realize that a week isn't a lot of time to prepare for a project like this, but honestly, all you need to get started on October 1st is paper and pen (or your phone's notes app) to record your responses to the prompts. Everything else can be done after October begins. So, jump in!

This adventure is new for me, so I'm on a bit of a learning curve. I hope you'll be patient with me as I navigate the particulars to make Celebrate October a success.

I'm really looking forward to celebrating October with you!

Thursday 3 - September 19

It's been quite a while since I've done a Thursday 3, my friend rukristin's weekly memory-keeping activity of snapping a selfie and writing 3 things about life right now.

Ready?

1. Summer is waning, and you won't hear me whining about that. This morning, I enjoyed a cup of maple pecan coffee on our patio out back. While the air was cool-ish, the sunshine was not, so I didn't stay out long. Still, I'm daydreaming of crisp fall mornings, soon to come, when I can sit out there and shiver a little, savoring every single autumn moment. #bringonfall!

2. Daniel and I just got back from visiting Indianapolis for a family member's surgery. We got to hang out with Daniel's brother and some friends, while we enjoyed a rainy picnic at a lovely park in Noblesville. Unfortunately, the park double-booked the shelter, and the folks who held the other reservation for the same date and time were quite rude about it, but our group was accommodating, offering to share, and it ended up being a mostly nice experience.

3. I am super excited to begin a new month-long project called Celebrate October, my own prompt-driven, memory-keeping adventure celebrating my favorite month of the year. I plan to release full details in the next couple of days, with an invitation to the private Facebook group I've established. It's going to be so much fun, and I can't wait to get started.

What's going on in your life right now? Snap a selfie and jot down three things about your right now life. It's such a good, easy, fast way to keep up with who you are and what matters to you on a regular basis. Join me!

Celebrating Equinox - 2018

Switching gears to 2018, I created this page about Daniel and I taking a few moments to celebrate the autumn equinox (also known as Mabon) at our local Starbucks.

Oh, how I love every moment of autumn and all of its many delights, including those rich colors!

While four clusters of embellishments is not my favorite, and I was a little wary of that design choice, I think it works out okay, and I like the dark background and the variety of embellishments I used, from the fussy cut flowers to the puffy hearts, to the cork pumpkins.

And enamel dots, of course. Always those!

In just one week, it will be time to celebrate the arrival of autumn again!

I can hardly wait...

Layout Share -

Continuing my work on the 2013 stories, I'm sharing a simple page today about birds:

These birds were hanging around in the yard of the hospital one day when I was visiting my nephew, and they were...well...pretty substantial.

I had no idea what they were, until I was creating this page at a crop, and my friend Mary told me they're sandhill cranes.

I didn't have any embellishments that were even remotely related to cranes, so I went with a simple color palette, a substantial title size, a couple puffy stickers, and a few enamel dots.

Autumn 2019

It's coming...

(Now, if the weather would just get the hint..)

Layout Share - First Hot Sauce

As I mentioned in my last post, I've been working on finishing my yearbook for 2013. Today, I'm sharing a page I created about the first hot sauce my nephew ate when he started to recover from his first round of chemotherapy.

I didn't have a photo to feature on this page; I only had the hot sauce packet I saved, which I preserved between two pieces of packaging tape.

I chose the patterned paper because it contained a similar red to the one in the packet, and I had other supplies that matched perfectly. While most of the layouts I've created on the subject of my nephew's cancer journey are somber in nature, this story was a triumphant one, and I like how the supplies I chose reflect that energy, as well as his love for hot sauce.

Photos are an important aspect of memory-keeping, but not always necessary. I really wanted to tell this story, so I made it work with what I had, and I really like how it turned out.

Layout Share - Hospital

Lately, I've been working on what I call my yearbook for 2013, and this is a layout I did about the hospital where my nephew received his cancer treatment.

I included one small photo of the hospital building, along with a map of the whole complex. I spent a lot of time here throughout 2013, so it's definitely part of that year's story.

Because I wasn't able to fit everything on one page, I created this 6x8 companion page:

I always like to include pieces of memorabilia as part of my scrapbook pages, and this particular piece tells a significant detail of the story.

Here are the two pages together:

The Growth of One Pumpkin - Photo Essay

As I've previously mentioned, Daniel and I bought a house in May, and it's been so nice having more space than we had in our apartment, including a large yard where we've discovered things growing.

On my way home from taking Daniel to work on August 2nd, I caught sight of great big yellow flowers I thought were growing out of the hedge along our front porch.

On closer inspection, I realized the blooms were attached to what I was pretty sure was a pumpkin vine, accidentally growing out of the hedge.

I was delighted.

A few days later, on August 6th, I was checking out the pumpkin vines and noticed this little baby had formed, a bit of pure magic, completely unexpected.

By August 11th, it was bigger and had a darker green pattern on its surface.

Six days later, it had grown a bit more and darkened.

And by August 27th, it was even bigger! I could even see the faint turning of the color to orange beginning...

...so by September 5th, it was more obviously turning that gorgeous pumpkin color.

On September 9th, most of the green was fading, and it was the size of what I've seen called "pie pumpkins" in the grocery store. Some kind of critter has been lunching on it underneath--possibly the same kind of little animal I disturbed when I was weeding the backyard garden beds?--so I won't be able to use it, even as a jack-o'-lantern, probably.

But I'm content to let it hang out on its vine, soak up the sunshine, and be a beautiful and  magical part of our yard.

Festival of Sunflowers

A local vegetable farm called Zilke's hosts a sunflower festival during August, and because our friend Susan posted about it on Instagram, we were able to catch it on its last day.

Together, we took quite a few photos to capture our beautiful (and scorching) experience, and here are a few of the best ones.

The bees were plentiful and active. I loved seeing that!

We were told that once sunflowers grow mature, their heads stop following the sun and stay focused in one direction.

Butterflies were plentiful, too, and so lovely, if difficult to capture in pictures. I guess they're a little camera-shy, though this one didn't seem to mind me snapping a few shots of it romancing the sunflower.

And there's the love of my life, posing with a sunflower he just befriended.

Speaking of Daniel, he took that outstanding shot of a differently colored group of sunflowers.

The heat was too oppressive to linger, but I enjoyed our visit to this sunflower festival and hope to make it a yearly tradition.

Celebrate October - Update

In less than one month, October will be here, and I'm so thrilled.

In a week or so, I'll be posting all the details about Celebrate October, my brand new month-long, prompt driven project, which I'm offering to anyone who's interested in participating.

When I first made the announcement, my plan was to host the project here on the blog, and there will still be plenty to read about it here.

But after giving it a lot of thought and getting some advice from people in-the-know, I've decided that the bulk of the content will be posted on a Facebook group, coming soon.

(An option for folks who don't have Facebook accounts can be made available, if necessary.)

Watch for a post explaining everything in a week or so!

Favorite Photos - August 2019

Already in the double digits of September, I feel like my head's spinning! Does anybody else feel like 2019 is a high speed train?

August turned out to be a month full of activities, and it was more photo heavy than usual. Here are a few of my favorites:

1. Flower Light

On a trip to the Heavenly Scent Herb Farm, I saw this flower (morning glory?) that looked like a fairy light was shining from inside its stem. But no, that's just the ambient sunlight playing a little trick! I love these flowers, and they all look like that, like sunlight is somehow captured and projected out from their centers. So cool!

2. Unpacked

I took this photo on the day that I finished unpacking the wall of boxes that were stacked in the middle of the floor. I was so happy to have that monumental task done about a month after moving in.

3. Mural

On a stop at one of our local Starbucks, I snapped a shot of this gorgeous mural. There's a mermaid frolicking about, so you know, what's not to love?

4. Sunflower

At the suggestion of my friend Susan, Daniel and I visited the Zilke Vegetable Farm on the last day of their Sunflower Festival, and the bees were very, very busy.

5. Tree

On a brilliant day, more like September than August, we got together with friends we've been trying to get together with for a long time, and one of the things we did was visit Greenfield Village. This tree, so beautiful, so very old, caught my attention and took my breath away. I couldn't quite capture its sheer size and majesty with a photo.

6. Name

At the end of the month, Daniel took a couple days off tacked onto the long weekend, and we had ourselves a little stay-cay, including a visit to Matthaei Botanical Gardens. This sign, identifying one of thousands of plants, shows the origin of my name.

7. Cosmos

And these flowers, also at the botanical gardens, are some of my favorites. They looked so fresh and lovely dancing in the breeze.

Coming up: more on the sunflower festival, and photographically tracking the growth of one pumpkin.

Layout Share - Vacation in June 2018

Yesterday, I shared some layouts that I worked on at crops over the past few weeks and completed at home with journaling and finishing touches.

Here are a few more, these from our June vacation to Florida last year:

Unexpected Star Wars Parade

I created this layout with leftovers from a Star Wars kit Daniel bought me awhile back, a few enamel dots, a little patterned paper from a pad I bought online, some letter stickers, and a little bit of my own doodly pen work. I love this story, and I like how this modified grid page turned out.

All Aboard

My favorite thing about this page, other than the great photos, especially of me and Daniel, and the one of DJ, is the train embellishments with punched-out Mickeys in the cars. Having a Mickey punch, which I got for a good price from Joann, makes embellishing pages about our Disney World moments a lot easier.

Ghostly Attraction

Problem: too many cute Hallowe'en supplies I will never, ever use to document Hallowe'en. Solution: use all the cuteness on a page about the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom! I absolutely love this page and had a lot of fun creating it. Most of the supplies came from an Echo Park Paper kit called Bewitched, which I had to have the moment I saw it, even though I had no stories to tell with it at the time. I added a Thickers title word, along with a few other embellishments, and it worked out perfectly.

Saying Goodbye

And finally, this page about saying goodbye to DJ, with supplies from Shimelle, along with some Tinkerbell stickers, enamel dots, and a few puffy stars. I don't normally like dark backgrounds, but I think this patterned paper worked really well, and I like this page.

Layout Share - Stories of 2018

The past several weeks have been busy with moving, but I've been fortunate to spend some of my Saturdays cropping at my local scrapbook store. Last week, I completed some layouts I began at crops that only needed journaling and finishing touches.

Here are the ones I did that go in my 2018 yearbook:

At Zola Bistro

I love this patterned paper from Pinkfresh Studio, from their Indigo Hills 2 collection, and I think it pairs well with this photo of me enjoying some cooler weather last August. I used a few other things from the collection, along with some stamping, some Thickers, and some enamel dots to tell an ordinary life story.

You and Me Together

In May, when I was walking around the sales floor at Mega Meet, I caught sight of a collection by Cocoa Vanilla, a company based in Australia, and I used that collection to make this page about Daniel and I going for a walk at our favorite local park. I added stamping, enamel dots, a Thickers word, and some splashes of Heidi Swapp's Color Shine in gold. I have to admit, this page just makes me happy.

Michigan Love

For this page about a visit I made to a cafe in East Lansing, I used several things from Shimelle's Sparkle City collection, along with a title word from Jilliebean Soup's Spoonful of Soul collection, and I put some stamps to work. I always like to include memorabilia on my pages, like the sleeve from the coffee cup I had that day.

Beautiful Day in Nature

This page was a bit of a challenge for me, supply-wise. I was at a crop when I created it, and while I had a whole store-full of supplies at my disposal, I couldn't find anything I thought worked with these photos. Instead, I chose to work with a kit I'd brought with me, and I think the end result is great. I especially like that I used the little squares as journaling block. A simple layout, but I kinda like those.
