Starbucks Autumn
Another sign that fall is on the way: pumpkin spice latte is back on the Starbucks menu.
Now...if the weather would catch up with all this autumn goodness...

Birthday Party Forty-Four
(Supplies: Card stock by Recollections. Patterned paper by American Crafts and My Mind's Eye. Letter stickers by October Afternoon and American Crafts. Stamp, stickers and crocheted flower by American Crafts. Paper flower by Prima. Buttons by Crate and Bella Blvd. Journaling spot by Jilliebean Soup. Sequin, unknown manufacturer. Spray ink by Glimmer Mist. Sketch: Shimelle Laine.)
For this layout, I went with a sketch by Shimelle Laine, which I think came from her Two Peas class, Hitchhiker's Guide, but I departed a bit out of necessity. See, I started with that adorable rose patterned paper, spraying it with gold Glimmer Mist because I wanted to bring in some shimmer and some yellow. Well, the paper warped. A lot. It wasn't working to use it as it was, all crinkly, so I trimmed off an inch and adhered it to a piece of kraft card stock. I liked the end result.
Kind of a busy layout, but I think it fits the happy theme. One of my go-to tips for adding "bling" to a page is to scatter some of the periods from a set of letter stickers as coordinating embellishments on a page like this one.
Three days in, three pages done. 30 in 30 Scrapbooking is off to a rocking start! :)

Winter's Broken Promise
(Supplies: Card stock by Recollections and Stampin' Up! Patterned paper by Bo Bunny. Sparkle ink by Gelly Roll. Letter stickers by K&Company, Making Memories, and Pebbles. Spray ink by Mister Huey and Glimmer Mist. Brads by Martha Stewart. Stickers by Jolee's. Gems by Sticko and Queen & Co. Tape by Martha Stewart, My Mind's Eye, and Queen & Co. Doilies, unknown manufacturer. Inspired by Starting Points by Shimelle Laine.)
Lots of fun putting this layout together. Lots of sparkle the camera didn't capture too well. One of my favorite techniques is to use specialty ink or paint to create journaling lines, and I love, love, love the shimmer pens from Gelly Roll.
My inspiration for this page was a Starting Point by Shimelle Laine, but I wound up departing from the original design by moving the photo to the left of the patterned paper cluster, rather than right in the middle. Doilies were the perfect addition, mimicking snowflakes, and I still dig that gorgeous patterned paper from Bo Bunny's winter collection, a couple years ago, now, I think.
Also really digging the decorative tapes. I'm developing quite the stash of those, so I want to get them on my pages more often.
Now...for number 3...

Red Leaf
Saw this leaf on the ground as I walked for the third time around our neighborhood this evening. I love the brilliant color, the contrast in the color of the leaf's vein.
Even more, I love that fall is coming.

Little Majorette
(Supplies: Card stock by Recollections. Patterned paper by WR Memory Keepers. Letter stickers by American Crafts. Brads by Girls Paperie and American Crafts. Gems by Queen & Co. Punches by Fiskars and Stampin' Up! Scraplift: Kim Watson, Creating Keepsakes, May/June, 2012.)
Here it is, my first scrapbook page of the 30 in 30 Scrapbooking challenge for September - 2012. I scraplifted the basic design from a layout in Creating Keepsakes, but I changed it up enough to make it mine. I created the bigger flower with a circle punch and an oval punch, and I really like how it turned out. Just picked up those papers at the local scrapbook store yesterday and put them to quick use.
I've already got a second layout done but didn't have enough light to take a decent photo, so tomorrow...

It Begins
All around town, I've been seeing splashes of autumn color already. Nature must be a bit confused. There's no cooler weather in sight, but the trees are already turning their luscious fall colors.
I crave the chilly days, but even without the sweet, autumn wind, the leaves are beautiful.
