Shimelle Laine's Online Scrapbooking Weekend is fully underway!
Challenge number one is to take inspiration from this page by Jaime Warren, and here's how I did:
(Supplies: Card stock by Recollections. Patterned papers by Basic Grey, Echo Park, and Little Yellow Bicycle. Tickets and felt flowers by Making Memories. Letter stickers and green brads by American Crafts. Die cut strips by Bazzill. Die cuts by Girls Paperie, Me & My Big Ideas, and Jilliebean Soup. Small circle flowers by Stampin' Up! Ink by Tim Holtz Distress.)
I started with the idea of die papers at the bottom and top of the layout, and I had the perfect map paper from Little Yellow Bicycle to use. Choosing a background paper took a little sorting through my stash, but I always find that an enjoyable task. I used a lot of little bits that I've had for a long time, and it was fun to draw all of those seemingly disparate items into a cohesive whole that I really love.
Here's to Shimelle for a brilliant start to what I know will be a fun and creativity filled weekend!
Challenge two is up already, so I'm off to check that out...
